By focusing on the object of the fixation, other forms of stimulation which can not handle are locked ... When I was little, I liked to give me only pain. The same may happen to other children who automutileaza ... When people tried to kiss me, I wanted them to me, because if you touch me I felt as a wave of these invade my whole body. Sometimes I wanted to feel the soothing sensation of being embraced, but if someone get me a hug, the effect on my nervous system was overwhelming. It was a desire to approach and at the same time rejecting, but this was caused by excitement, not anger or anxiety. (Temple Grandin)
